Local Food and Happiness
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt. ~ Charles M. Schulz
I have a strong interest in sustainability and work with several organizations on that front. One of the things I’m involved in is a Sustainable Living Series and one of the classes we are putting on a class on local foods. Food is a significant factor in our health and thus our happiness. Eating good healthy foods gives us energy, freedom from illness and can just plain make us feel better. Eating locally has many other benefits from improving our health to helping our local economy. After our class meets in April I’ll post some resources related to local food here at the ministry.
One of the people involved in our class is a wonderful woman by the name of JoAnne, she’s an older lady although you would never know it given her energy. We met about the details of the upcoming class and after the meeting JoAnne and I got to sit and chat for a time. I told her about the Ministry of Happiness and she gave me the following, whenever people ask her how she is, she responds with the following. “I’m adorable, and some parts of me are perfect.”
She told me this with a twinkle in her eye and followed up by telling me that of course she doesn’t have to reveal what parts. This woman is an inspiration to me, she’s bursting with energy, completely passionate and really committed to making this a better world. She is the model of happiness I think all of us are looking for and talking to her helps me see more clearly my own path to this place. I hope you all have people in your life who do this for you, they help guide and mentor us and of course, help us have a happy day my friends ~ Rev Kane
