One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Three Questions, February 2, 2025

You can find the background to The Three Questions in my recent post about it. I’ll be answering the questions each day for the next year and putting this experience into a book. Here we go!

What was the most beautiful thing I encountered today?

It’s been a cold, gray rainy day, so that’s meant writing, cooking and entertainment. The most beautiful thing I heard today was a Lore podcast episode on time slips, a concept that has always fascinated me.

What did I learn today?

Due to a conversation I was having I ended up Googling and learning that the actor Jack Nicholson was an only child. But he didn’t know that, his mom had him at 17 and he thought his aunt raised him and his sister. In fact, it was his mom and grandmother.

What made me happy today?

A couple of days ago one of my oldest friends had his birthday. We usually chat around his birthday and so today we talked for over two and a half hours. I’ve known him for over 50 years and he’s someone who is highly intelligent and like me also really enjoys TV and movies. So we talked about life and family and then dove deep into movies and television, it was a great conversation and absolutely one of my happiest things is a good conversation.
